SOLICITATION OF BIDS
USED WASTE BALING SYSTEM
BID NO. 802A

Hardee County Solid Waste has a used Harris Solid Waste Baling System for sale that is too large for current operations. This system is in relatively good operating condition with the exception of one hydraulic pump for the bale ejector, which is getting weak. This used baler unit consists of a waste elevating conveyor, an elevated picking of sorting line conveyor with working platforms on both sides, a bidirectional cross conveyor and a baler with a dust/odor control vacuum pump mounted that is supported on an exterior steel tower. This baler was reconditioned in October 2014.
The successful bidder will be responsible for disassembling and removing this machine from County property, with said work coordinated and completed in coordination with the Solid Waste Dept. This removal will include removing electrical wiring and conduit between the electrical panel box and the baler system plus removing ductwork piping connecting the dust control pump and baler. Color photos of this unit are available, but bidders are encouraged to conduct a site visit to physically see this unit before bidding. Visits may be arranged by contacting Mr. Ken Wheeler at (863)773-5089.
Prior to starting baler removal work, the successful bidder shall make payment in full in the form of a certified bank check or cash and proof of compliance with attached "Insurance Requirements".
A 10% bid deposit is required with all proposals, which will be forfeited if the successful bidder fails to promptly make full payment and provide required insurance documentation. All other deposits will be returned upon the successful bidder making the required full payment.
BID OPENING: All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked "Bid No. 802A" that is addressed or submitted to Mr. Jack Logan, Purchasing Director, 205 Hanchey Road, Wauchula, FL 33873. Said bid shall be received in the Purchasing Dept. no later than 2:00 P.M., December 15, 2017, at which time all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. A bid submitted by facsimile or electronic mail (email) will not be accepted. Any submittal received after 2:00 PM local time on said date will not be accepted under any circumstances. Any uncertainty regarding the time a submittal is received will be resolved against the Bidder.
Hardee County reserves the right to reject any or all responses, to waive any or all non-material irregularities and technicalities, to re-advertise for Bids, with or without changes in the scope of the Bid, or take any other such actions deemed to be in the best interests of Hardee County.
